Ready to feel more alive?

Delia’s gift as a teacher and artist lies in her capacity to witness and support the boundless elegance within you. Her 30+ years as a dance artist taught her how to take risks and dive deep in pursuit of vision, while her 20+ years as a yoga teacher taught her how to stay balanced, strong, and steady amidst the chaos. She is honoured to be the current owner of Green Room Yoga in East Vancouver and founder of East Van Wisdom School.

About Delia's Yoga

I am a registered E-RYT teacher with the Yoga Alliance, a Yoga Shred® Certified Teacher, Certified Energy Codes® Facilitator, and Transformational Coach. I’ve been teaching yoga since 2003, and at Green Room Yoga since it first moved out of Alix Rodrigues’ living room and onto Hastings Street in 2008.

Dance as foundation.

For more than 35 years, I have practiced, performed, and taught Contact Dance—a form of improvised movement that explores the natural laws of physics through the body. This is the deepest influence on my yoga.

Science & anatomy.

My studies with anatomists Thomas Myers and Gil Hedley, and yoga innovator Sadie Nardini, gave me the models and language to teach this felt understanding of physics effectively in my classes. But these days, with Dr. Sue Morter, I’m venturing into the quantum—where yoga asana flirts with consciousness itself. Because over the years, my perspective has deepened. After more than two decades of teaching, my practice is less about chasing shapes and more about guiding awareness—through movement, stillness, and breath—back to the elemental spark of joy, the spirit of play and experimentation. After all if we’re both particle and wave, why not cut to the chase and dive into the whole ocean?

“When we cultivate an inner posture of curiosity and wonder, we don’t just dissolve stress—we reawaken intimacy with ourselves.”

 Green Room Yoga

  Small. Inspired. Community.

Green Room Yoga is a community-rooted studio in East Vancouver, dedicated to cultivating practices that are both grounding and innovative. With some of the most experienced teachers in town, Yoga here is not just about postures—it’s about community, authenticity and connection.

As the current studio owner, I’m honoured to continue the legacy of this special space, holding classes, workshops, and series that nourish both body and spirit.

East Van Wisdom School

East Van Wisdom School, is created from my belief that collective practice and relational ways of being are vital to healing and growth today’s world.

“Wisdom is discernment, perspective, and the ability to act in ways that benefit the whole.”

In a time of complexity, we need wisdom more than ever.

Knowledge alone isn’t enough—we need embodied wisdom that helps us navigate life with clarity, compassion, and depth. Wisdom arises not in isolation but in community, through presence, listening, and shared experience.

Housed within Green Room Yoga, the East Van Wisdom School is a collaborative project that deepens yoga beyond the mat. Dedicated to creating spaces where wisdom can be nurtured locally and sustained collectively. We offer small group practices that foster personal and social transformation.

Our diverse team of teachers and facilitators are not distant authorities, but neighbours and peers—rooted in your own community. They bring wide-ranging expertise and lived experience, offering perspectives that enrich the journey and weave wisdom into everyday life.

TESTIMONIALS

“I tend to have a love-hate relationship with yoga, and tonnes of resistance to regular practice.
But Delia's classes made me actually want to get on my mat. I like the balance she strikes between finding the stillness and relaxation that will carry into my day, and finding the intensity or edge that can be worked in the body. As well, I really appreciate the western anatomy principles Delia employs, like working with the center line. Delia integrates intelligent anatomy engagement without preaching. As well as  extends a warmth and humour that made yoga at home feel connected, which was surprising for me.”
